Stroll invites vendors, parade units, heifers, entertainers, farms to participate

BRATTLEBORO — Strolling of the Heifers invites participation in a variety of categories during the 11th annual Strolling of the Heifers Weekend, which takes place June 1 through 3.

Online registration or application pages are now open:

• Live Green Expo vendor registration: Vendors and exhibitors are invited to register for booth space at the Live Green Expo on Saturday, June 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Town Common and the Brattleboro Retreat Grounds. Applicable fees are detailed on the registration page.

The organization especially invites vendors whose business or wares relate to sustainable living themes such as: local agriculture, forestry, and healthy, locally produced foods and fibers; healthy foods and healthy lifestyles; renewable energy resources of all kinds; sustainably operated retail and manufacturing; local and regional art, crafts, entertainment, and education; and green building construction and renovation resources.

• Parade Unit application: The parade begins at 10 a.m. sharp on Saturday, June 2 on Brattleboro's historic Main Street and invites applications from entertainers, farms, clubs, bands, businesses, and non-profit organizations to participate with parade units that celebrate the importance of local foods, family farms and sustainable agriculture.

The registration deadline is May 12, but space is limited. Early registration will mean earlier consideration and acceptance.

• Heifer registration: The Stroll is looking for 100 heifer calves to lead the parade as always, and invites participation from farms and 4-H clubs. There is a stipend paid for each participating heifer. Tasteful accessorizing (hats and flower garlands) of heifers is encouraged.

• Entertainer applications: Entertainers are sought for various parts of Stroll Weekend: during the Friday evening Gallery Walk Street Festival (June 1 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.); pre-parade entertainment on Saturday; and entertainers of all kinds throughout the Live Green Expo. Apply early for early consideration.

• Gallery Walk Street Festival vendor registration - Vendors (especially ice cream and other food vendors) are invited to participate in the Friday evening street festival on Main Street. Table-sized and parking-spot sized spaces are available; applicable fees are detailed on the registration page.

• Farm, Food & Fiber Tour - This self-guided tour to farms and food enterprises is promoted during Stroll Weekend and on the Stroll website from June through October. Participating farms and food enterprises are invited to update their registrations; new participants are always welcome.

Each of the registration or application pages has contact information for Stroll coordinators who can answer questions or provide more information.

See applicable restrictions, rules and pricing (for vendor registrations only) listed on each of the registration pages. Vendor fees may be paid online via PayPal, which accepts credit card payments as well as PayPal account payments.
