Volunteer opportunities in Windham County

BRATTLEBORO — Green Mountain RSVP has the following volunteer opportunities available around Windham County. For more information on these volunteer positions, and to register as a Green Mountain RSVP volunteer, call 802-254-7515.

• Vermont Foodbank's Brattleboro warehouse needs volunteers to help sort and pack incoming food donations, and someone to greet visitors and answer the phone.

• Senior Solutions in Brattleboro needs two gardening volunteers, plus someone to help a senior with paperwork and organizing; the volunteer will be trained.

• The independent living program at Brattleboro Housing Authority needs a volunteer to help a senior with light housework.

• The Tasha Tudor Museum in West Brattleboro needs a volunteer docent.

• Bellows Falls Senior Center needs a Meals on Wheels driver.

• The Experienced Goods thrift shop in Brattleboro needs volunteers for the front desk and backroom sorting.

• Co-leaders are needed for new Bone Builders classes at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital. Half-day training, then one or two hours per week.

• One-on-one walking companions and exercise-walk group leaders are needed for a new hospital-based Brattleboro summer walk program.

• Volunteer visitors are needed for “It Takes a Village” program for new moms and babies. Volunteers make weekly, one-hour visits for 12 weeks. Training is given.

• Rockingham Free Public Library needs volunteers for various duties.

• Farming Connections in Guilford, which works with animals to help communications-challenged children, needs volunteers for farm, office, and board work.

• The Austine School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Brattleboro has volunteer openings for receptionist, teacher assistant, librarian, events coordinator, crafts instructor, landscaper, and kitchen help.

• Turning Point of Windham County welcomes adult mentoring volunteers.

• Brattleboro Senior Meals needs volunteer drivers.

• Hilltop House and other senior residences are interested in volunteers who would like to share arts, crafts, reading, or conversation.
