Understanding Cullenen’s response

ROCKINGHAM — RE: “Municipal manager disciplined” [Dec. 5]:

Tim Cullenen shouldn't have said what he did, but I can't blame him for reacting as he did.

People can act badly and say anything they want without repercussion. Jim Mitchell's emails, where he copies hundreds of people, are borderline libelous. I had to call the Vermont State Police to get him to stop.

I served on the Rockingham Selectboard for 10 years and took a break because of the stress from these people. In that time, we had five municipal managers.

Such citizens are a cancer on our community and collectively serve as the Anti-Chamber of Commerce.

Prospective municipal managers search our town online. What do you think comes up?
