TOWNSHEND — The Townshend Lake bridge will be closed for construction starting Monday, May 6.
According to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the bridge is expected to be closed through Friday, May 24. State Forest Road should be used as a detour for residents and visitors.
The Corps also announced that the Townshend Lake Recreation Area will open for the season on Saturday, May 18, and can be accessed by State Forest Road.
