VSO comes to Grafton for annual outdoor concert

GRAFTON — Vermont Symphony Orchestra's Summer Festival Tour brings picnicking, music, and fireworks to Grafton on Wednesday, July 3.

Broadway star Sara Jean Ford joins the VSO for hits from the Great American Songbook. Vocal numbers by Richard Rodgers, Cole Porter, and George Gershwin share the spotlight with irresistible Benny Goodman Big Band tunes.

Orchestral favorites from the world of opera add drama, fantasy, and exoticism to the songful theme. As always, the concert closes with Tchaikovsky's spectacular “1812 Overture,” marches, and fireworks.

The concert at the Grafton Ponds Outdoor Center begins at 7:30 p.m., with Anthony Princiotti conducting. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for picnicking.
