Summer Social Concert Series features The Stray Birds

ROCKINGHAM — The Vermont Festivals popular Sunday Summer Social Concert Series at the Rockingham Meeting House continues Sunday, Aug. 11, with the harmonies and tight acoustical arrangements of The Stray Birds, a Pennsylvania trio now touring the country.

This is the second of four concerts Vermont Festivals has planned for the historic building through Columbus Day weekend.

According to the event announcement, when The Stray Birds take the stage, “the spotlight falls on three voices raised in harmony above the raw resonance of wood and strings. It is a sound drawn from the richness of American folk music traditions, spun with a stirring subtlety and grace.”

The group released their original, full-length debut album in 2012.

Doors open at 1:30 p.m., and the concert begins at 2. Tickets are available at Village Square Booksellers, Shona Grill, and at www.brattleborotix.com.

The final Sunday Summer Social Concerts are the Stockwell Brothers on Sept. 8 and Cliff Eberhardt on Oct. 6.
