Looking for a way to get involved in the life of Windham County? Consider these mid-summer volunteer opportunities and spread the word:

• Loaves and Fishes food shelf and kitchen on Main Street in Brattleboro needs a volunteer or volunteers with computer skills.

• Halifax School needs a volunteer gardener.

• Volunteers are needed to help with Brattleboro Housing Authority/United Way summer lunch program; one-hour slots.

• The Vermont Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (VABVI) needs volunteer drivers, particularly in Brattleboro, Putney, Bellows Falls, Saxtons River, Wilmington, and West Dover. Mileage reimbursement available.

• Windham Child Care Association in Brattleboro needs a volunteer for data entry.

• Pine Heights Nursing Home in Brattleboro needs a volunteer to make trips to the public library for residents.
