BRATTLEBORO — Winston Prouty Center for Child Development offers a free, four-week parenting education series to help parents promote children's social and emotional skills and use positive approaches to help kids learn appropriate behavior.
“Positive Solutions for Families” is designed to give participants new strategies to handle daily routines, cope with challenging behavior, and help their children learn to solve simple social problems.
Organizers say participants will receive a guidebook that offers advice for supporting their children across common family routines.
The series is made possible by an Early Education Initiative grant and Building Bright Futures.
Presented by Winston Prouty Center Inclusion Facilitator Brandy Levesque and WSESU Early Childhood Coordinator Janice Stockman, the series is offered Nov. 3, 10, 17 and 24, and is intended for families with children ages 3 to 6.
The series runs at the Winston Prouty Center for Child Development, 20 Winston Prouty Way, from 5 to 7 p.m. Childcare and dinner will be provided.
