West West Fair is Sept. 12

WESTMINSTER WEST — This year, the Westminster West Community Fair is on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in and around the church in Westminster West.

The theme this year is “Keeping the Spirit Alive,” and the Grand Marshal will be Susie Webster-Toleno, to recognize the “ways she supports spiritual connection and internal reflection in this community,” according to a news release.

Other events include a bake sale, a parade through the village, music on the lawn by the Grafton Cornet Band, a veggie chop-o-matic, a fun run for kids and a 5K running race for adults, a silent auction, a talent show, a chicken barbecue, a fortune teller, face painting, various crafts and booths, and a sale of used items.

It's the biggest fundraiser of the year for the village church in Westminster West.

Organizers are accepting items for both the silent auction and the tag sale. However, fair organizers do not want computers or television sets (they cost money to get rid of), clothes, or books (the Westminster West Library takes these for their book sale the same day). They also accept donations of baked goods for the bake sale or contributions from one's garden for the noon meal.

For more information, contact Nick Keil at 802-387-4555 or Laura Williams at 802-387-2765. See the full schedule for the day at www.westminsterwest.org.
