Windham Orchestra to host open rehearsal

BRATTLEBORO — The Brattleboro Music Center's Windham Orchestra, under the direction of Hugh Keelan, begins its 46th season with an open rehearsal at the River Garden on Main St. in downtown Brattleboro on Monday, Sept. 14, from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

Current orchestra members - players of all backgrounds, abilities, and ages - invite musicians to join the orchestra for an evening exploring and rehearsing the Symphonie Fantastique of Berlioz and Mendelssohn's Fingal's Cave Overture.

This is not an audition. Keelan and the orchestra really wants newcomers to play and build an extraordinary and enjoyable experience together, for this evening, the upcoming concert cycle, or the whole season.

For the massive sound of the Berlioz, they particularly encourage string players to join them. Wind and brass players are also welcome. Participants are asked to bring their own music stand. RSVPs and questions are welcome at info@windhamorchestra.org.
