Main Street Arts hosts exhibit by Collin Leech

SAXTONS RIVER — Main Street Arts (MSA) will show the work of Collin Leech starting on Saturday, Nov. 28, and running through Dec. 28.

An opening reception will be held Thursday, Dec. 3, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Leech studied painting at the Fiorello LaGuardia High School of Music and Art in New York City and later at the Maryland Institute College of Art. In 1993, after moving to Vermont, she began teaching classes at the River Gallery School, where she continues to teach. Last year, she began teaching at Main Street Arts. She is also a massage therapist and the mother of two daughters.

Leech will be offering a one-day workshop in encaustic collage at MSA on Saturday, Feb. 6. In a news release, she described encaustics as one of the most versatile painting mediums around, involving working with wax through layering, coloring, and carving.
