Putney School to hold annual Charitable Work Day

PUTNEY — Charitable Work Day is The Putney School's way of contributing to the global community by students donating their labor toward a cause.

This year's Charitable Work Day, Saturday, April 6, supports the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program. This program, founded in 1980, “works to open doors for uprooted people, helping the world's most vulnerable rebuild their lives.”

The program helps refugees in navigating American culture, lays a foundation for a successful, fresh start, and makes strong connections with their community upon arrival. It places a strong focus on providing refugees with jobs, education, and health care.

If you live in the greater Windham County area, hire Putney School students at $9.60 per hour, per student, to do yard work or other tasks (such as raking, painting, etc.). All proceeds will go toward helping refugees settle into their new homes in Vermont.
