SEON launches Facility Managers Guild

BRATTLEBORO — The Sustainable Energy Outreach Network, Inc. (SEON) announced the formation of their second networking group, The Facility Managers Guild.

According to the news release, the intention is to assist facility managers in becoming more proficient in all aspects of energy management and conservation. “This collaboration will open opportunities to share best practices and project outcomes, engage in problem-solving, connect to additional resources, and participate in continuing education,” the release said.

Facility managers, technicians, and associates working in a nonprofit, public, or private enterprise in the tri-state area are welcome to participate.

The launch of the Guild will be Monday, June 20, at 5 p.m., in the Main Conference Room at the Brattleboro Retreat.

John Penney of John F. Penney Consulting Services PC will be the keynote speaker. He will discuss the benefits of commissioning building systems and the different approaches to the commissioning process. The focus will be on new and existing building commissioning, monitoring-based commissioning, and ongoing commissioning. He will explore the cost benefit and energy saving that commissioning can help achieve.

There will be time to mingle with colleagues, to learn why such an organization is being advanced, and to find out about upcoming networking meetings. Membership information will be available and light refreshments will be provided.
