Simba concert to celebrate solstice

DUMMERSTON — Funk and world beat band Simba celebrates the beginning of summer and the longest day with their annual Summer Solstice Celebration on Monday, June 20, at 8 p.m., at the Evening Star Grange in Dummerston Center, at the intersection of East-West, Middle, and Bunker roads.

A news release invites music lovers to “dance your heart out with the area's most beloved world beat band featuring all kinds of funky grooves and some of the best local musicians.” Those musicians are: Bob Stabach (sax), Dan DeWalt (trombone, keys, steelpan), Wim Auer (bass), Rob Freeburg (trumpet), Derrik Jordan (guitar, percussion, vocals), Johnny Yuma on drums, and William Rodriguez on percussion.
