State rep. assigned to health-care committee

VERNON — Under the new leadership of Mitzi Johnson, the speaker of the Vermont House of Representatives, my committee assignment has been changed from the House Committee on Natural Resources and Energy to the House Committee on Health Care.

The overall makeup of the health-care committee has changed dramatically: Of the 11 members of the committee, five are freshman house members. The chair remains the same, and two other members remain from the last biennium.

With the debate over the health-care system in Vermont, we will have a tremendous amount of work in front of us. Thus far, we have been receiving testimony from various witnesses to familiarize the committee with all aspects of health-care financing and delivery in the state.

As we take up a variety of bills within the jurisdiction of my committee, I will endeavor to keep you informed of their progress.

If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me: mhebert@leg.state.vt.us or 802-451-9088.
