Registration is open for BMC's Piano Four-Hands Extravaganza

BRATTLEBORO — Registration is open for the Brattleboro Music Center's Piano Four-Hands Extravaganza - a weekend workshop on the art of piano four-hand repertoire set for Saturday and Sunday, March 25-26, at the Brattleboro Music Center at 38 Walnut St.

Sessions will be held Saturday, March 25, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., Sunday, March 26, with open practice available in the morning.

Those interested should register soon, but no later than March 1, organizers say, since music will be sent to registrants at least three weeks prior to the weekend, and enrollment is limited to 10.

Instructors Bruce Griffin and Susan Dedell will lead dynamic, “intensive,” yet fun sessions exploring the piano four-hand technique, according to a news release. Participants will dig into musical interpretation and technical challenges associated with this technique. Activities will include coached sessions, practice time, and master-class demonstrations.

“Participants will love making new friends as they learn new music and explore their musicality and feelings in a safe environment,” Dedell said in the news release.

No previous four-hands experience is required. The cost for the weekend is $175 and includes Saturday lunch. To enroll, call the BMC at 802-257-4523, or email info@bmcvt.org.
