NEYT presents ‘Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr.’

BRATTLEBORO — New England Youth Theater presents Disney's Alice in Wonderland Jr., directed by Shoshana Bass, May 5 through 7 and 12 through 14 at NEYT, 100 Flat St.

Based on the classic tale by Lewis Carroll, this adaptation of the musical sets the story in a hospital, where a child's boredom gives way to imagination as the doctors, other patients, and hospital staff all transform into the strange characters of Wonderland.

Featuring updated songs from Disney's thrilling animated motion picture, the worlds between make-believe and real become blurred as Alice is transported to a new and wondrous world.

“These young actors are working hard to create a strong culture of trust and mentorship,” says Bass, an NEYT alum, in a news release. “This multi-aged cast is creating this world with skill and spunk and I feel so fortunate to be a part of making young professional theater here in our hometown.”

The show's singing, dancing, and acting are highlighted by fantastical costumes and intricate work with projections and shadows.
