MSA Coffeehaus features folk quartet 2 x 2

SAXTONS RIVER — The folk quartet 2 X 2 returns to the Main Street Arts Coffeehaus on Saturday, May 27, at 7:30 p.m.

Mark Grieco, Valerie Kosednar, Betsy Rybeck Lynd, and Lee Rybeck Lynd will present a concert of a cappella and accompanied music distinguished by its broad range of styles, including traditional and contemporary folk songs from around the world.

Formed three years ago, the group has been well received in concerts around the region. The MSA concert will include songs arranged for four voices, several by local composers.

Kosednar is a well-known area music teacher who has conducted children's choirs in the Midwest, New York City, and locally. Grieco has played in various rock-and-roll bands in the area and sings with Kosednar in the hospice choir Hallowell.

Betsy Rybeck Lynd was a school chorus director for many years, and she and Lee Rybeck Lynd have led pub sings for Muskeg Music, have occasionally performed as a duo, and are active in musical theater.

All four have also sung together in the group House Blend.
