Improv comedy workshop offered at Moore Library

NEWFANE — Moore Free Library, 23 West St., is offering an intensive improv comedy workshop on July 5, 6, and 7, from 1 to 3 p.m. The cost is $15 per day per student, with an additional $10 for the culminating performance.

The workshop is open to all, age 8 and up. Students will be taught the foundations of improvisational comedy and will have the opportunity to deliver a fast-paced short form performance.

Instructor Caitlin Baker grew up in Brattleboro and was active in both the Brattleboro Union High School theater department and the New England Youth Theatre. She holds a B.A. in theater and a M.Ed. in secondary education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Her theater credits include The New Renaissance Players and the Hampshire Shakespeare Company. For the past two years, she has been studying improvisation with Pam Victor of Happier Valley Comedy and recently at ImprovBoston. She is a cast member of ComedyCazi, an independent sketch and improv troupe that performs in Davis Square in Somerville, Mass.
