ATP to hold auditions for 2018 Ten Minute Play Festival

BRATTLEBORO — The Actors Theatre Playhouse will hold auditions and interviews for its 2018 Ten Minute Play Festival at the Hooker-Dunham Theater and Gallery at 139 Main St. on Thursday, Dec. 7, at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 10, at 1 p.m.

Copies of all the scripts are available as PDF files by contacting jbombicino@svcable.net.

Contact either producer Jim Bombicino or Burt Tepfer at burttepfer@gmail.com to let them know your date preference, or your desire to have scripts emailed to you, or if you have any questions you would like answered. If you are unable to arrive on time or attend either audition session, you may also contact Tepfer to make other arrangements for auditioning.

ATP is also seeking stage managers and production teams for the season. All levels of experience are welcome for being part of their stage management, production management, lights, sound, props, costumes, and house management teams. ATP trains volunteers for every production.

This year, the Ten Minute Fest is featuring honorable-mention plays from the last two years of submissions. These are great scripts that the producers couldn't pass up.

Producers will ask auditioners to read from plays that interest them. Directors may also ask them to read for other plays as well. Actors may audition for as many plays as they would like and may perform in more than one play. There may be call backs with informal table reads to confirm casting.

The goal is to start table reads in January 2017 and for everyone to be off-book by mid-May. A few rehearsals will be spread out over several months, with the most intense time being the two weeks prior to the opening and through the first weekend's run. Participants should plan to have those two weeks open and available every evening (May 29 through June 7).

Directors G. Sherman, H. Morrison, Mo Hart, Mike Jerald, Marilyn Tullgren, Brenda Seitz, and Paige Lussier-Johnson will make up the rehearsal schedules for their respective plays with their actors.
