Alice B. Fogel, New Hampshire’s poet laureate, speaks at Landmark College

BRATTLEBORO — The Landmark College Spring 2018 Academic Speaker Series closes with New Hampshire Poet Laureate Alice B. Fogel on Monday, April 2, at 7 p.m., in the Brooks M. O'Brien auditorium in the East Academic Building.

Fogel's presentation, “Science, History, Music, Art, Dance, Vegetables, and Other Things That Aren't Related to Poetry (Or Are They?)” will explore how her work is informed by her love of learning. She also will read from her works to illustrate points about her creative process.

Over a 25-year career, Fogel has had six volumes of her own poetry published, in addition to being included in numerous anthologies and literary journals. She was appointed to her five-year term as New Hampshire Poet Laureate in 2014.

Her book, Interval: Poems Based on Bach's 'Goldberg Variations' won the Nicholas Schaffner Award for Music in Literature and the 2016 New Hampshire Literary Award in Poetry.

Her latest collection, A Doubtful House, was released last year by Bauhan Publishing. Fogel has also served as an adjunct professor specializing in academic support at Landmark College for the past six years.
