PUTNEY — The Selectboard approved the Fiscal Year 2019 contract for the Windham County Sheriff's Department. The town will pay the department $70,000 for coverage.
The Board first discussed the proposed contract at the June 6 regular Selectboard meeting. They tabled the decision to allow new Board member Laura Chapman more time to review the document.
At the June 20 regular meeting, the Board approved the contract.
According to Town Manager Karen Astley, the Sheriff's Department made “minimal changes” to the FY19 contract, and it is mostly the same document as the FY18 contract.
Astley noted the sheriff will submit the FY20 fees by November so the Board has those figures for the next budget season.
