WESTMINSTER WEST — On Sunday, Aug. 12, at 2 p.m., award-winning environmentalist and master storyteller Michael Caduto is coming to the Westminster West Library. He will present a powerful, entertaining program about renewable energy explored through science and the arts.
According to a news release, Caduto uses storytelling, music, and participatory experiences of today's energy technologies to engage audiences with the process of transforming the forces of nature into energy for everyday living.
The program will feature kid-powered demonstrations of wind power, solar energy, and magnetic-electrical power; indigenous tales of sun and wind; a “Fun Energy Facts” quiz show (with prizes!); music for all ages to sing along to; cool renewable-powered toys and gadgets; and a demonstration of how to make your own personal power station.
Caduto is known for his entertaining, dynamic presentations of science, storytelling, song, and stewardship. His popular books include the “Keepers of the Earth” series, co-authored with Joseph Bruchac.
In 1984 he founded P.E.A.C.E. - Programs for Environmental Awareness & Cultural Exchange - to promote Earth stewardship and cultural diversity. He has traveled throughout North America, Europe, and the Middle East presenting performances, workshops, and keynotes to more than 500,000 people.
This humorous program is full of facts, activities, and special effects that reveal simple ways to harness natural sources for energy and reduce global climate change. For more information, contact the library 802-387-4682 or westminsterwestlibrary@gmail.com.
