New Vernon town plan completed; public hearing scheduled for Aug. 29

VERNON — VERNON - For nearly a year, the Vernon Planning Commission has been working on a new edition of the Vernon Town Plan.

As part of the final approval process, a public hearing is set for Wednesday, Aug. 29, at 6:30 p.m., at the Town Office Building on Governor Hunt Road.

The public is invited to comment on the plan. A subsequent hearing will be held by the Selectboard. Read the plan at vernonvermont.org/documents/2018-town-plan.

Town-Wide Yard Sale is Sept. 8

Another town-wide yard sale is being organized for Saturday, Sept. 8, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There is a $5 registration fee that covers: two weeks of advertising in local media, a yard sign to attract shoppers, and a map of yard-sale sites for shoppers.

To register, download and print the registration form at vernonvermont.org/documents/9-8-18-yard-sale-registration and return your registration by Aug. 24 to be included on the map. Organizers ask participants to be good neighbors: “If you plan to enjoy the benefits, please contribute to the expense.” Contact Emily Vergobbe at 802-451-6269 with questions.
