‘A significant pleasure to meet so many people and feel inspired about the future’

DUMMERSTON — Thanks to all the folks in the Windham-4 district for my recent victory in the primary election.

There were some who helped a little and some who helped a lot; regardless, all the support made a world of difference.

This campaign was one of the most inspiring and challenging tasks I've undertaken in my life. It has been a significant pleasure to meet so many people and feel inspired about the future of Vermont.

Particular thanks go to:

• David Evans, our campaign manager, kept things running in an orderly fashion.

• Laura Chapman, the campaign advisor, displayed relentless networking and outreach skills. Her knowledge in fostering grassroots movements was vital.

• Charley Todd, our canvasser extraordinaire, displayed boundless enthusiasm in spreading information about the campaign and recruiting volunteers.

I also thank the many other volunteers who wrote letters, canvassed their neighborhoods, and provided personal testimonies.

Most importantly, I'd like to thank the citizens themselves who live in the district and made their voices heard. In our democracy, the voice of the people is paramount. I am eternally grateful they used that voice to support my candidacy.

I also thank Cindy Jerome for running as well. Participation is healthy for democracy, and competition draws more citizens to become involved and informed. We were both able to conduct respectful and professional campaigns despite being opponents. I am grateful that she is an asset to our community, and I am honored to have had such an opponent.

Lastly, I would like to thank our incumbent, and my new partner, Rep. Mike Mrowicki. I look forward to learning from his in-depth experience.
