WEST BRATTLEBORO — The West Brattleboro Association's combined annual and monthly meeting is being held on Thursday, Oct. 18, at 6 p.m., in the community room at Hayes Court on Garfield Drive. Refreshments will be provided.
This meeting will see the election of Trustees for the coming year. The slate includes Doug Cox, Tim Cuthbertson, Tom French, Joe Jewett, Stewart McDermet, Erin Maile O'Keefe, Felicity Ratte, Adam Silver, and Michael Bosworth. Nominations will also be accepted from the floor.
Attendees can also participate by nominating persons or organizations for the Association's Community Leader of the Year Award, which will be presented at the holiday party in December.
After these formalities, the meeting will review the meeting held the same morning with the Preservation Trust of Vermont, which will visit both Melrose Terrace and Dalem's Chalet. Also to be discussed are issues with other spaces in West B, including the new plywood at the former 7-Eleven.
There will be some quick updates about ongoing initiatives of the Association, including a treasury update, bike corridor update, progress on the historic site marker, progress on a West B History Group, progress on a West B Film Fun Group, and an update on the Neighborhoods program.
The purpose of the West Brattleboro Association is to promote the thoughtful and effective evolution of the community of West Brattleboro as a place that is safe, healthy, attractive, and prosperous and also to help West B residents be informed Brattleboro community members. WBA monthly meetings are open to all residents and business owners and anyone else interested in West B.
