Greater Falls Connections looks at marijuana laws
BELLOWS FALLS - Greater Falls Connections will be hosting its monthly coalition meeting on Friday, Nov. 16, from noon to 1 p.m., at Parks Place, 44 School St. The theme of the meeting is “Marijuana: How the Cannabis Conversation Has Changed.” Meetings are free and open to everyone. Lunch will be provided.
The legalization of marijuana in Vermont that went into effect in July provides an opportunity to discuss the evolving trends related to marijuana.
Providers and parents are invited to discuss how to engage community members in having cannabis conversations that help all to be prepared to have effective conversations about responsible adult use and the dangers of youth use of marijuana now that it is legal for those 21 and older.
Greater Falls Connections will include information on smoking, edibles, hash oil, vaping, and infused product, and explore opinions on large-scale, commercial marijuana in Vermont.
Senior meal in Halifax
HALIFAX - The Halifax senior meal will be served on Friday, Nov. 16, at noon at the community hall located at 20 Brook Road in West Halifax.

Christmas bazaar in Westminster
WESTMINSTER - The Women's Fellowship will hold its annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the First Congregational Church, 3470 Route 5.
The Christmas Shop will be open and will include crafts, candles, gifts, handmade items, collectibles, and homemade baked goods. At 11 a.m., Santa will visit, and children of all ages are invited to do a craft project and take a photo with Santa.
The Christmas Café will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Coffee, tea, and treats will be available in the morning and soup, chili, sandwiches, chips, and beverages for lunch. Come and get some early shopping done or just spend time with friends in the café.
Community Hope and Action presents free Thanksgiving potluck, concert
TOWNSHEND - On Nov. 17, all are invited to a community Thanksgiving dinner and concert at the Townshend Town Hall. Dinner will be from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by a musical performance by Dan Fontaine from 6 to 8 p.m.
This is a potluck event, so feel welcome to bring your favorite side, meal, or dessert to share with friends, family, and neighbors, old and new. This event is substance-free and is open to people of all ages from all towns.
Free Thanksgiving dinner in Chester
CHESTER - Celebrate Thanksgiving with a free community dinner on Sunday, Nov. 18, at the Chester Baptist Church. The traditional fixings of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, squash, and cranberry sauce will be served, along with a delicious pie selection.

Local AARP chapter to meet
BRATTLEBORO - The Brattleboro Area Chapter 763 of AARP will have its monthly program meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the Senior Center on Main Street at 1:30 p.m.

NECCA offers new Thanksgiving break camp
BRATTLEBORO - The New England Center for Circus Arts is offering a new Holiday Break Camp during the three days leading up to Thanksgiving when area schools are closed.
Thanksgiving Break Camp will be offered Monday, Nov. 19, Tuesday, Nov. 20, and/or Wednesday, Nov. 21. Sign up can be for one, two, or three days - each day will include a new and fun experience for ages 5-17. Full-day camp lasts from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The cost is $85 per session.
Also, camp is being offered for 3-5 year olds in a separate half-day option alongside the full day camp. Half-day camp lasts from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is $50 per session.

Thanksgiving community dinner in Wilmington
WILMINGTON - St. Mary's in the Mountains Episcopal Church on East Main Street will host a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, at 3 p.m.
Dinner will include turkey, stuffing, potatoes, vegetables, salad, crudités, rolls, and home baked apple and pumpkin pie. There will also be a vegetarian option.

The church says it hopes to make this an annual event to serve those in need, as well as those wishing to be with company. There will be an optional offering with all proceeds donated to the Deerfield Valley Food Pantry.
