MARLBORO — Marlboro College welcomes writer and alumnus Mark Roessler, author of A Panoramic Tour of the Northampton State Hospital, for a reading and discussion of his work.
The reading will take place on Monday, April 8, at 6:30 p.m., in Marlboro's Snyder Center for the Visual Arts, and is free and open to the public.
Through more than 50 panoramic images taken around and inside the now-vacant Northampton (Mass.) State Hospital, Roessler's new book offers a unique opportunity to explore this historic psychiatric hospital.
The book invites readers to circumnavigate the entire sprawling institution, including walking the halls, visiting the theater, looking inside rooms, peering out windows, and climbing the stairs to the attic.
Roessler is a marketing and multimedia publications specialist who was the managing editor at the Valley Advocate for several years, and now specializes in documenting historic spaces.
The reading and talk about A Panoramic Tour of the Northampton State Hospital will be followed by a discussion with the author.
