BAJC hosts annual antique appraisal day at 118 Elliot

BRATTLEBORO — The Brattleboro Area Jewish Community will hold its fifth annual Antiques & Collectibles Appraisal Day (like a mini-version of “Antiques Roadshow") on Sunday, May 19, from 1 to 5:30 p.m., at 118 Elliot.

Six appraisers, specialists in their fields, will be present to evaluate and assess antiques and collectibles such as books, sterling silver, art glass, objets d'art, china, oriental rugs, pottery, fine art, signed prints, musical instruments, records and entertainment memorabilia, jewelry, paper goods, ephemera, photographs, furniture, toys and dolls, Asian items, metalware, clocks, barometers, watches, coins, tchotchkes, and more.

Firearms, knives, ammunition, or other weaponry, rugs larger than 6 feet by 9 feet, or bulky furniture cannot be accepted. The appraisers are Richard Michelman, Kit Barry, Charles Suss, Walter Tofel, Larry Simons, and Stephan Brandstatter.

All the appraisers are knowledgeable in their respective fields and will offer an accurate valuation of your heirlooms and personal keepsakes based on current trends and market value. Be amazed or amused as you find out what your prized possessions are worth.

Come to 118 Elliot, across from the Central Fire Station, any time between 1 and 5:30 p.m.; there is no admission charge. The cost for each item to be appraised is $7 per item or six items for $36, with a limit of six items per person.

For more information, contact Brandstatter at getmusic@sover.net.
