BRATTLEBORO — Sunday, June 2, will mark the 14th annual Walk for Amber.
Amber Bernier was loved and treasured by many people, and in an effort to honor her memory, friends and family have organized a day of remembrance.
At 11 a.m., a walkathon will start at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital. Registration begins at 10 a.m. The walk will be approximately five (rather easy) miles.
From 5 to 7 p.m., there will be a pasta dinner at the First Congregational Church, 880 Western Ave. Chef Tristan Toleno of Entera Catering will donate his time and culinary skills. Homemade desserts and salads will complement the meal.
Tickets for the dinner will be available at the door, with a suggested donation of $10 per adult and $5 per child. Renegade, a female a cappella group, will provide musical entertainment. A raffle and prize drawing will take place at the dinner. This will be a day for the community to remember and celebrate Amber's life.
All proceeds from the walkathon, dinner, and raffle will go to the Amber Bernier Scholarship Fund. Any questions may be directed to Amber's parents, Deb and Dan, at 802-579-8043.
