BRATTLEBORO — Brattleboro Memorial Hospital and Community College of Vermont are partnering again for an accelerated program to prepare qualified candidates for jobs as Certified Medical Assistants.
Enrollment in the one-semester program will be limited to 20 participants. Classes will be held on the College's Brattleboro campus, and all clinical aspects of the course work will be completed at the Hospital.
As part of the joint initiative, BMH is providing full scholarships for eight successful applicants. Scholarship recipients will have their CCV tuition covered and will be hired as Medical Assistants at BMH upon successful completion of the academic program and certification exam.
An informational presentation about the program will be held at BMH in Brew Barry Conference Room #2. Tuesday, June 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The public is invited to attend to learn about program details, the application process, and available scholarship opportunities.
Staff from BMH and CCV, as well as current BMH Medical Assistants will be on hand to answer questions and provide technical assistance with the application process.
Applications for the new College to Career Program are available at ccv.edu. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until Monday, July 15. The first session of classes will begin on Sept. 3. The curriculum will consist of a combination of classroom instruction at CCV and supervised clinical practice at BMH.
