Snow-showery Wednesday precedes milder, showery Friday and a decent weekend

Hello and good day to you, residents of lovely Windham County, Vermont! I hope that this past week has been a good one for you. I know, as I age, life continues to present increasing challenges, so if we can have some good moments or days in a given week, that's a good thing, indeed.

As for our upcoming weather week, we're going to see some snow shower activity on Wednesday with very light accumulations possible in spots. Thursday looks to be the pick of the week with mostly sunny and calm conditions.

However, by Thursday night into Friday, another storm system will bring snow and ice at night, changing to rain on Friday.

Our weekend looks decent, although we have to watch a possible storm system for some Saturday night impacts, though any rain or snow should stay to our south. Sunday through Tuesday looks seasonable and fair at the moment.

With our weekly weather picture painted, let's look closer at the daily details!

For Wednesday, an upper-level system will be working northward through the southern Vermont region. This will combine with an upslope component (i.e. moist, cold air that is forced up and over the southern Green Mountains, enhancing snowfall) to produce some light accumulations in spots.

Valley areas near Brattleboro will see plain rain or perhaps snow mixed with rain at times. Highs will reach the low 30s in the high terrain, and the mid to upper 30s near the Connecticut River Valley.

It will become partly to mostly cloudy Wednesday night with lows in the mid to upper 20s.

For Thursday, high pressure will crest through the region, and deliver us the pick of the work week to be sure. We will enjoy mostly sunny skies, with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s and light winds.

Lows Thursday night will dip into the upper 20s to low 30s as clouds increase ahead of an incoming warm front.

By early Friday, a storm system will be tracking east-northeast through the Great Lakes and northern New York, and will push its warm front through southern Vermont.

This will produce a period of light rain and snow showers late Thursday night into early Friday morning, which should then change to rain showers with highs reaching the low to mid 40s.

Any showers may end as a little snow Friday night, with lows dropping into the mid to upper 20s behind a cold front.

The Saturday through Tuesday period looks to feature generally fair and seasonable weather for late November.

Aside from a few rain or snow showers and a mostly cloudy period during Saturday night as a storm likely passes to our south, our weekend into early next week looks to feature partly to mostly sunny skies.

Highs will be in the 30s on Saturday, with lows in the 20s. Sunday should feature highs in the mid 30s to low 40s with lows in the upper 20s.

Monday and Tuesday look to push into the upper 30s to low 40s with lows near freezing before we see another storm system by about next Wednesday or so. Have a great week!
