BRATTLEBORO — Brattleboro's Last Night Committee will present a fun-filled and substance-free day of celebration for all ages on New Year's Eve on Tuesday, Dec. 31.
The day kicks off with activities for both seniors and toddlers. There will be a Senior Potluck Luncheon at the Brattleboro Senior Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the Rob Fletcher Trio as musical guests.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., KidsPLAYce is holding Toddler and Preschool Free Play. For more information call 802-254-5212.
From 1 to 4 p.m., folks can enjoy sleigh and hay rides at Fairwinds Farm on Upper Dummerston Road (no dogs, please). The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children up to 12 years.
The children's program this year features musician Steven Lindholm, who will share fun songs and skits for children age 7 and under, from 4 to 5 p.m., at the Brattleboro Retreat's Educational Conference Center. Just bring a nonperishable food item for Project Feed the Thousands as admission to this great performance.
Again this year, the Last Night Committee is teaming up with Brattleboro Bowl for a great day and evening of bowling. Children's Bowling runs from 2 to 4 p.m. The cost for each bowler is $8 and includes shoes, yogurt from Commonwealth Dairy, and cider.
All-Ages Bowling is at 5 p.m. ($50 per lane), or 7:30 p.m. ($55 per lane). Both time slots include two hours of bowling, shoes, pizza, soda, party favors, music, and a light show. Call to reserve a lane at 802-257-1177.
There will be free skating at Living Memorial Park from 6 to 9 p.m., with door prizes and hot chocolate. Skate rentals are available for $3.
There will be a Teen Party at the Brattleboro Boys & Girls Club on Flat Street from 6 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. It's free with games, food, and a New Year's countdown frenzy.
The traditional concert includes The Amidon, Murphy & Tracy Families, at the Centre Congregational Church on Main Street from 7 to 9 p.m. The cost to attend this annual concert is $15 for adults, $5 for children 6-14 years old, and free for children 5 and under.
After the concert, families can head down to the West River to watch the fireworks display over the Retreat Meadows at 9:30 p.m.
