Community efforts needed to tackle climate crisis

BRATTLEBORO — I attended Bill McKibben's talk at the Centre Congregational Church on Jan. 15. I think it was immensely inspiring, for youth and adults. I was one of the (few) young people there; most of the the attendees looked to be over 50.

I think it's really important for everyone to participate in interactive, community events like this, because as Bill pointed out, right now we don't need individual acts, we need everyone to come together and act as a community. We need to be collaborative. Working together is the best solution.

The single most important thing we can do right now is be present, attend events like this, listen to all the voices in the community, and connect with one another.

It builds community, it builds confidence, it builds a movement.
