BRATTLEBORO — Compassionate Brattleboro announces its spring Community Conversations on Compassion, a continuing series designed to highlight the compassion issues in our town, responses to date, and priorities to be addressed.
The Conversations will take place on Wednesday evenings in March, April, and May, beginning at 7 p.m., in the Brooks Memorial Library, 224 Main St.
The programs are as follows: March 18: Safety in a Compassionate Community; March 25: Compassion and Disability; April 22: Compassion and Animals; April 29: Language and Poetry as Bridges to Compassion; May 20: Compassion and Sanctuary; May 27: Compassion and Non-Judgmental Listening.
The programs are designed to be highly interactive with community members, and organizers hope to attract persons representing a broad array of backgrounds.
Organizers say special attention will be given to understandings of compassion; ways in which compassion is practiced in particular organizations and programs; and assistance/resources needed in these pursuits. The primary goal, they say, is to elicit views on compassion-related priorities in the Brattleboro area.
The programs will be facilitated by members of Compassionate Brattleboro. Brattleboro Community Television will record the series.
