Brattleboro Area Hospice debuts ‘Neighbor 2 Neighbor’ program

BRATTLEBORO — Brattleboro Area Hospice has launched a new initiative that doubles your impact and helps your neighbors in need.

According to a news release, the impetus for the newly created Neighbor 2 Neighbor Fund grew from a conversation between local residents Connie Baxter and Greg Moschetti.

They were considering where to donate their federal COVID-19 relief checks.

“Greg, being on the board for Groundworks Collaborative knew there was a need by Groundworks clients for gift cards at Experienced Goods Thrift Store,” according to the news release. “As he and Connie talked about the need, they came up with the idea of 'a two-fer' - purchasing gift cards at Experienced Goods and donating them to Groundworks.”

Neighbor 2 Neighbor supports neighbors in immediate need, as well as neighbors who are terminally ill and grieving, and does so through the purchase of gift certificates from Experienced Goods.

Here's how it works: Make a designated online donation to the Neighbor 2 Neighbor Fund and choose one of three local nonprofits: Groundworks Collaborative, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Vermont, and the Women's Freedom Center. The Fund will, in turn, purchase gift certificates from Experienced Goods for use by clients of your designated nonprofit.

“The Neighbor 2 Neighbor Fund doubles your impact as all purchases at Experienced Goods directly support Brattleboro Area Hospice clients who are terminally ill or grieving, and all certificates directly support clients in need at these three local nonprofits,” the program organizers write.
