BMC Chamber Series continues Nov. 5 with Jennifer Koh

BRATTLEBORO — The Brattleboro Music Center Chamber Series continues Friday, Nov. 5 with violinist Jennifer Koh performing works by Bach.

The concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the BMC at 72 Blanche Moyse Way. Tickets, at $25, are available at bmcvt.org.

Koh, who will perform the six sonatas and partitas for solo violin by J.S. Bach, is, as described in a news release about the concert, “recognized for intense, commanding performances, delivered with dazzling virtuosity and technical assurance. She is a forward-thinking artist dedicated to exploring a broad and eclectic repertoire, while promoting equity and inclusivity in classical music.”

Koh has expanded the contemporary violin repertoire through a wide range of commissioning projects and has premiered more than 100 works written especially for her.

“Her quest for the new and unusual, sense of endless curiosity, and ability to lead and inspire a host of multidisciplinary collaborators, truly set her apart,” the concert organizers wrote.

For everyone's safety, proof of vaccination or negative results of a COVID-19 PCR test within 72 hours is required for admittance to events at the Brattleboro Music Center. Masks must be worn at all times while at the venue.
