People who have experienced mental health conditions and are in recovery are invited to attend training for the National Alliance on Mental Health's In Our Own Voice, to be held virtually on Saturday, Feb. 5.
The 60-to-90-minute public education presentation raises the awareness of mental health conditions and recovery with a short video, personal testimony, and a question-and-answer session that allows for honest and open dialogue.
As described in a news release, presenters “engage audiences with their brave and gripping personal journeys as they touch on the various phases of recovery, including 'what happened, what helps, and what's next.'”
Interested parties must attend the full-day training, have personal experience with mental health, commit to performing four presentations a year, and be at a comfortable place in their recovery.
All training and materials are free for NAMI Vermont members. The training will take place online, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participants must register at namivt.org.
