BRATTLEBORO — Experienced Goods Thrift Shop, the main fundraiser for Brattleboro Area Hospice (BAH), will be moving retail operations across the street to 80 Flat St., in the CF Church Building, this spring.
This move will locate the store next door to the current donation drop-off site.
The shop originally opened in 1989 in one room off the Harmony Parking Lot. As sales grew during the 1990s, the store expanded twice in that building, including a storefront on Elliot Street. In 2006, the shop moved to the newly built Transportation Center at 77 Flat St.
During the first year of the pandemic, the shop shifted the collection of donations to the CF Church Building. In a news release, BAH executive director Susan Parris said that this location “has proven to be highly successful for donors and staff, and led to the decision to relocate the retail space next door, conveniently joining both once again at the same location.”
Current plans are for the store to relocate in May. Parris said BAH “is excited about this new opportunity for the shop,” and that as operations move forward, more details will be announced.
