PUTNEY — Landmark College recently announced it will present Sheinelle Jones with its LD Luminary Award during the “More Than We Imagine” gala fundraiser taking place on Thursday, April 28, at the Midtown Loft and Terrace in New York City.
Jones, who will be in attendance and provide remarks during the event, is co-host of the 3rd Hour of Today. Since joining NBC News in 2014, she has covered a variety of breaking news events and human-interest stories.
In addition, Jones hosts “Through Mom's Eyes,” a digital series for Today where she visits with the mothers of celebrities to discuss their journey behind the scenes, and to get their unique take on raising successful children. She also hosts a monthly wellness show for Today's new streaming platform on Peacock TV.
She co-hosts a weekly radio show, Off the Rails, on Sirius XM with fellow Today show co-hosts Al Roker and Dylan Dreyer, and hosts Wild Child, an award-winning weekly educational series, part of NBC's The More You Know family programming.
The Landmark College LD Luminary Award is given to an individual in the public eye who has helped advance the perception of neurodiversity in society. Previous award recipients Al Roker and John Elder Robison will also be attending the “More Than We Imagine” gala.
Other LD Luminary Award recipients include actress and philanthropist Holly Robinson Peete and Academy Award-winning actress Whoopi Goldberg. Comedian and talk show host Seth Meyers has also been a special guest at previous Landmark College galas.
The evening's program will also include a live auction, fund-a-need, and stories from students, parents and trustees about how Landmark College exclusively enrolls students with learning differences (such as dyslexia, ADHD, autism, or executive function challenges) to achieve their academic and career goals. An online auction is also part of the event with bidding open one week prior to the event date.
Proceeds from the event will provide scholarship and programmatic support for current and future Landmark College students. Since 2014, Landmark College galas have raised more than $2.5 million in support of its mission.
