BRATTLEBORO — After taking a break for a few years, Brattleboro Savings & Loan says it is bringing back Community Appreciation Day on Friday, Aug. 26, at its Main Street and Bondville branches, and Wednesday, Aug. 31, at its Wilmington branch.
“It's just an opportunity to bring people together outside and enjoy some hospitality and fun,” president and CEO Dan Yates said in a news release. “We're a community bank, and this is one of the ways we want to celebrate all that means. It's been an interesting couple of years, but now is the right time to reconnect as a community, and nothing does that quite like food and fun for all.”
At the main branch, starting at 11 a.m. and going until around 2 p.m., they'll have hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, salads, and other cookout standards on the front lawn. Their Putney Road branch will join their festivities with the Main Street branch. The Bondville branch will be handing out ice cream from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
On Aug. 31, they will have Vermont Gelato at the Wilmington branch, from 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
WTSA will be doing a live broadcast from Main Street and local vendors will provide food to help make it a true community event, including: Brattleboro Food Co-op, Hannaford, A Bite to Eat, Leader Distribution Systems, Gouger's Market, Cota & Cota, Rentals Plus, and Vermont Gelato. Any leftovers will go right to the folks at Brigid's Kitchen and Groundworks Collaborative to further give back to our community. All are invited to attend.
