GUILFORD-Guilford's artists and poets are coming together to present "Our World in Words & Pictures," a group art show at Broad Brook Community Center that will open its doors to the public on Friday, June 14, at 6:30 pm.
"Our World in Words & Pictures" is "more than just an exhibition; it's a celebration of the beauty that surrounds us," organizers write in a news release. "Through the lenses of visual artists and the pens of poets, this show captures the essence of our world in all its splendor, from the tangible to the abstract."
The theme of the exhibition invites attendees "to explore the myriad facets of our planet and our daily lives, whether through breathtaking landscapes, captivating portraits, or thought-provoking abstract compositions," organizers write. "From the smallest details to the grandest vistas, each artwork and poem offers a unique perspective on the world we inhabit."
Featured visual artists include Erin Tkaczyk, Leslie Malouin, Rich Cianflone, Rachel Boettcher, Paula Marks, Evelyn McLean, and Steve Soszynski, whose works span a diverse range of media and styles.
In addition to the visual artworks, the exhibit will also showcase Guilford's wordsmiths. Poems by Verandah Porche, Patty Carpenter, Andy Burrows, Joslyn McIntyre, Richard Wizansky, Nichael Cramer, Marguerite Serkin, and Susan Bonthron will complement the visual narratives.
