WILLIAMSVILLE-You inadvertently left out some important historical quotes that give context and credence to what I wrote in my letter. To wit:
The Zionist founders were well aware of what they were doing. To quote just two of them:
Vladimir Ze'ev Jabotinsky: "[It is the] iron law of every colonizing movement, a law which knows of no exceptions, a law which existed in all times and under all circumstances. If you wish to colonize land in which people are already living, you must provide a garrison on your behalf.... Zionism is a colonizing adventure and therefore it stands or falls by the question of armed force."
David Ben-Gurion: [L]et us not ignore the truth among ourselves.... politically we are the aggressors and they defend themselves."
The Zionist project has succeeded just as they had hoped, and Palestinians are now fighting against an existential threat to their freedom and their homeland.
