BRATTLEBORO-This work requires courage.
Thank you for re-electing me as your state representative. This work is only possible when we all show up - not only to vote yes, but also to stick around after the election.
For the past six years, I've been honored to represent the incredible people of Brattleboro. I have been your advocate and champion, connecting you to resources during difficult times, making sure you have a seat at the table in Montpelier, and celebrating the successes of our community.
I have led on policy solutions for education, child care, housing, public safety, economic justice, and government accountability to make our community a place where we can each make it work.
I'm grateful for all you've given to get this work done. Now, I invite you to stay in conversation with me throughout the next two years.
You can sign up for my newsletter at emiliekornheiser.org to hear about bills moving through the legislature, dates and times to join me at community forums, and other opportunities to weigh in on state policy.
I love to receive emails from you about ideas or concerns you have. I'm always happy for interns, volunteers, tough conversations, a long chat in the grocery store, or a quick question. Ask me to join a meeting or visit your workplace.
I'm also trying to put together meetings on particular topics from taxation to energy policy, so please reach out and let me know if you have particular interests or expertise. As a legislative delegation, we will host regular events at the library, so please attend. These times require all of us.
There is more to do. This is an inflection point, and there is hard work ahead. This year, I will focus on making this place somewhere we can all call home, where our families can make it work, where we show up for each other.
The work matters. Please keep showing up with your bodies, with your voices, with your hope. Politicians aren't the cause of our problems, and neither are they the solution. I can only do my work well when the public truly has my back.
So please join me in a conversation about our future, about your family's future, and about what is possible when we commit to each other.
Emilie Kornheiser
