Putney library hosts Peeps Diorama Contest

PUTNEY-It's time again for the Putney Public Library's annual Peeps Diorama contest. Those brightly colored marshmallow treats are on the shelves and ready to star in a diorama about readers' favorite books.

Entry forms are available at the library and can be printed from putneylibrary.org/peeps. There is no cost to enter. Here are the guidelines:

• Anyone may enter as an individual or part of a family team, even if they are not a Putney resident. Only current Putney Public Library cardholders may vote.

• Each diorama should be crafted from a standard-sized shoebox and must be based on a book or have a literary theme. All characters must be played by Peeps candy, but any shaped Peep is allowed.

• The contest is open to all ages, with separate categories for children, adults, and families. Please limit the use of food items (besides Peeps) in the diorama.

• One entry per person. All entries must be submitted with an entry form, and become the property of the library. They will be used for public display - they may be picked up from May 6 (after the Peeps Diorama Party) to May 14, but any left behind will be disposed of.

• All entries must be in good taste, and the library reserves the right to omit any entries it feels are not appropriate for public viewing.

Dioramas must be brought to the Library during the week of Monday, April 21–Saturday, April 26, during normal library hours (Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m.–6 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 a.m.–1 p.m.)

Voting and display of all entries will take place in person at the library the week of April 28, and the winners will be notified by email, then announced publicly. Awards will be given on Tuesday, May 6, at 5 p.m. A winner from each category will receive a $25 gift certificate to Everyone's Books in Brattleboro.
