State attorney general to hold town hall meeting in Brattleboro

BRATTLEBORO-Vermont Attorney General Charity Clark will hold a Town Hall meeting concerning her recent work to protect the rule of law and Vermont's sovereignty, including filing 27 lawsuits against the administration since President Donald Trump took office in January.

Clark will be joined by state Rep. Emilie Kornheiser, D-Brattleboro, and Windham County state Sen. Nader Hashim on Sunday, Sept. 21, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., at Brattleboro Union High School, 131 Fairground Rd.

The lawsuits against the Trump administration filed by Clark since Inauguration Day have blocked acts and executive orders that have been found unconstitutional and illegal. Since Trump was sworn in on Jan. 20, the Attorney General's Office has received a deluge of concerns, pleas for action, and "thanks to her office for taking a stand," according to a news release.

The announcement of the event said that Clark looks forward to hearing directly from Vermonters "about the impacts of rapidly changing federal policy on their lives and will answer questions on her work standing up for the rule of law and for Vermont."
