Homesharing options disussed in Guilford Nov. 22

GUILFORD-Guilford Community Church (GCC), 30 Church Drive, off Bee Barn Road, will host Ric Cengeri of HomeShare Vermont on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the church hall (lower level). Coffee and refreshments will be provided.

According to its website, homesharevermont.org, "HomeShare Vermont has been matching people who have room in their homes with those seeking an affordable place to live for over 40 years. They conduct background and reference checks and then help create compatible matches. Homeshare hosts can ask for rent or help with household tasks, such as cooking, yardwork, housekeeping, snow removal, pet care, or running errands. For guests, this is an affordable alternative to renting."

HomeShare Vermont's service is now available in southeastern Vermont through a partnership with Windham & Windsor Housing Trust.

Following the presentation and discussion, the church invites folks to hear from members of Guilford Community Church's Affinity group, sharing what is going on in area nonprofit organizations.

Members of GCC are involved in more than two dozen local nonprofit groups, ranging from food assistance, help for new Americans, interfaith youth ministries, housing, nonviolent resistance, and more. The event is projected to end at 11:30 a.m.
