'A Rafter of Crankies' returns to Craft Tour

PUTNEY-Sandglass Theater's "A Rafter of Crankies" is a candlelit celebration of storytelling through art, puppetry, and music.

Now in its fourth year at Green Mountain Orchards and its 11th year as part of the Putney Craft Tour, the event will take place on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 28 and 29, with performances at 5 and 7:30 each evening.

A crankie is an illustrated scroll, hand cranked through a wooden box accompanied by live storytelling, music, shadow puppetry, and light, like a moving picture book.

This year's Rafter of Crankies features artists from Vermont, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota, each bringing their own distinct vision and magic. "From the humorous to the haunting, the fantastical to the heartfelt - each crankie offers a unique lens on our world," organizers wrote in a news release.

Tickets at $15 discounted, $25 general, and $35 supporter. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Advanced tickets are available at bit.ly/842-crank.
