BRATTLEBORO-Petitions for Brattleboro town officers, Windham Southeast School District (WSESD) board members, and Representative Town Meeting members are available at the Town Clerk’s Office Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m., after Dec. 15.
Before that date, petitions will only be available between the hours of 9 a.m. and noon.
Town elections will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the American Legion, 32 Linden St. Annual Representative Town Meeting is scheduled to begin Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. in the Brattleboro Union High School Gymnasium. If the voters of Brattleboro choose to discontinue Representative Town Meeting during Town elections, an Open Town Meeting will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026, in the BUHS Gymnasium.
Petitions for Town Officers and WSESD Brattleboro Board Members must contain at least 30 valid signatures of registered Brattleboro voters and be filed in the Town Clerk’s Office no later than Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, at 5 p.m. to have their name placed on the ballot.
Candidates for Town Meeting Member must file a nomination petition, issued by the Town Clerk’s Office, with at least 10 valid signatures of voters from the district where the candidate lives no later than 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26. Incumbents for Town Meeting Member will be mailed a Notice of Intent form in early January and must return their signed Notice of Intent form no later than 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26.
