Sheriff's Office honors its personnel

BRATTLEBORO-The Windham County Sheriff's Office announces the following recipients honored on Dec. 13 as Sheriff Mark R. Anderson presented awards at the 10th annual Awards Ceremony to recognize the department's personnel:

• The Sheriff's Merit Award was presented to Deputy David Eldridge for his exceptional dedication to serving civil process and conducting prisoner extraditions with unwavering professionalism. His consistent commitment to excellence and reliability has upheld the highest standards of the Windham County Sheriff's Office. From 2021 to present, Deputy Eldridge has demonstrated unwavering devotion to duty, ensuring the confidence and integrity of each mission. His actions reflect great credit upon himself and the Sheriff's Office.

• Detective Sergeant Mario Checchi was recognized as Deputy of the Year for his excellent and continued dedication to the Office and to Windham County, as recognized by superiors, peers and the public in 2025.

• Dispatcher Jacquelyn Crespo was recognized as Civilian of the Year for her outstanding commitment, innovative approach, and strong leadership, consistently finding solutions and advancing the department's success and mission as recognized by superiors, peers, and the public in 2025.

The Distinguished Employee Award was presented to:

• Deputy Thomas Raymond was recognized for his unwavering reliability, kindness, and work ethic - qualities that make him respected and valued by all.

• Dispatch Supervisor Sandy Boyd was recognized for her inspiring commitment, leadership, and steady presence, helping dispatch operations run smoothly each day.

• Dispatcher Jacqueline Putzig was recognized for her reliability, professionalism, and consistent support, strengthening the entire dispatch team.

The following employees were recognized for their years of dedicated service: Sergeant Robert Lakin, 25 years; Deputy David Eldridge, 5 years; and Deputy Richard Yastrzemski, 5 years.
